Cultivator tines

Agricultural spare parts

The soil is all stony in a semi-arid plot of land that I have. What tines do you recommend? My main problem is that the double coil tine that I use just breaks all the time.

The coil tine cultivators are suitable to till the land properly, and they are ideal to prepare the seedbed as they break up the clods of earth and pull out the weeds with the help of the cultivator point, which is put at the end of the tine. It is a good idea to use these for superficial work with loose soil.

When the soil is dry and hard the coil bends, the tines go backwards, the working depth is less than the set depth, which is why they break under stress. If there are stones, these fly up towards the tractor, which can cause accidents and breakages.

With regard to your enquiry, it would be better to use the chisel tine reference number 2461-2467 in the Bellota Catalogue, with a heavy duty ripper chisel plough point. These get the job done much faster, working at over 7 km/h, although a power supply of 30 CV/m of the farm machinery working width is required for a depth of between 18 and 20 cm.

In the Bellota catalogue the coil tines available range from the model 2480, with a 20 x 20 section, to the model 2486 with a 35 x 35 section. They should be replaced with a chisel tine with the same section or something larger than what you are using at the moment, such as the 2466 (with a 25 x 25 section) or the 2467 (with a 30 x 30 section). If the chosen section is very big the job has to be done faster so that the tine vibrates and the soil is tilled properly.
